A collection of 4 round tour routes from Oviedo in Asturias Spain
About this collection
This is a collection of 4 round tour routes starting and ending at the biker friendly Hotel Ayre Alfonso II in the popular city of Oviedo. Oviedo is one of Spain's historical treasure troves, home to several UNESCO World Heritage sites that hail from the Kingdom of Asturias. At the heart of the city is the medieval old town where you can find most of these landmarks. Oviedo is a great base to tour the mountains and coast of Asturias.
All four routes will give you a great feeling of true adventure as you explore the lesser known parts of this beautiful region.
Route 1: Las Ubinas la Mesa Natural Park, some of the roads are small and very rural but they do offer you the chance to experience the untouched countryside.
Route 2: A trip into the Cantabrian Mountains. There are no fast roads so leave your knee sliders behind. What this route lacks in speed is made up for by bucket loads of breathtaking scenery, rock tunnels, steep drop offs and deep limestone gorges.
Route 3: Picos de Europa. This route circumnavigates the Picos de Europa National Park and travels through one of the best gorges in Europe, the Desfiladero de los Beyos.
Route 4: This route visits the Green Coast or Costa Verde and stops for lunch at the beautiful fishing village of Cudillero.
