Veluws Streek Museum
The route continues south, along the Apeldoorns Kanaal, where you race through the forests of Epe and Elspeet. This is the Veluwe at its best: quiet roads surrounded by trees, the sound of whistling birds and the occasional deer hopping past in the distance. If you want to stop for a while and pick up something cultural, you can visit the Veluws Museum Hagedoorns Plaatse in Epe. This museum immerses you in the agricultural history of the Veluwe. A perfect place to rest for a while and immerse yourself in old farm life.
From the Veluwe you continue south towards the Nederrijn. Here the first of four ferries takes you across the water, an iconic part of this route. There is something special about a motorbike on a ferry. The moment when you stop your motorbike for a moment, look out over the water and feel that you are literally and figuratively on your way to a new adventure.
A highlight in this part of the route is Amerongen. This charming village breathes history. You can make a stop to admire the castle of Amerongen or simply drive through the winding streets and enjoy the old Dutch village feeling. Not far from Amerongen, in Maurik, you can cross the water again and drive towards Tiel. Here the route takes you past Het Dijkhuis in Ophemert, an old farm that stands proudly on the dike. A great place for a short break, while enjoying the view over the vast meadows.
After Ophemert you head towards Waardenburg, where the second ferry takes you across the Waal. The Waal is perhaps one of the most impressive rivers in the Netherlands. The wide stream, the constant traffic of inland vessels and the impressive dikes give this part of the route a raw, tough atmosphere.
You now enter the Land van Heusden en Altena, a region rich in waterways and history. Here, in the village of Drongelen, you will find the third ferry across the Bergsche Maas. The road winds further through small Brabant villages such as Sprang-Capelle and Waalwijk, where you can enjoy the quiet country life. The route reaches its climax when you arrive at Kasteel Zuidewijn, a beautiful historic castle surrounded by greenery. Here you can get off your bike for a while and let the feeling of the centuries-old stones under your feet sink in.
The last part of the route takes you towards Tilburg. After all those quiet country roads, you will notice the difference here. The liveliness of the city comes towards you, but here too you can end your motorcycle trip in style. Tilburg offers a great mix of culture and conviviality. Whether you decide to take a last lap through the city or settle down on a terrace to enjoy your trip, the city provides a worthy ending.
This motorcycle route is more than just a ride through the Dutch countryside. It is a journey through time, across rivers and through regions rich in culture and history. Every bend, every ferry and every stop tells its own story. Whether you are a fan of long straight stretches, enjoy the challenge of winding dikes or simply enjoy the view from a ferry, this route offers something for everyone.
The route includes a number of places for a drink and a bite to eat for yourself and your motorbike, are you obliged to stop here? No, of course you can also determine your own stops.

The 10 most beautiful car and motorcycle routes in the Netherlands
These 10 routes in the Netherlands have been carefully selected, checked and made equal for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a MyRoute-app RouteXpert. The 10 most beautiful motorcycle and car routes in the Netherlands are always a snapshot, and a personal opinion of the reviewer. This does not alter the fact that every lover of beautiful roads and interesting sights will enjoy these routes.
The ten routes are spread over 10 provinces, we only skipped Flevoland and South Holland. Interesting routes can also be found in the MyRoute app RouteXpert library, but we still want to stick to the 10 most beautiful and not the 12 most beautiful.
Enjoy the many fortresses and castles that are included in the routes, such as Fort Veldhuis in North Holland. But also take a look at the route southeast of Nijmegen and visit the impressive Canadian War Cemetery and Memorial. The route 'Overijssel in bird's eye view' includes the oldest house in the Netherlands and the route along the IJssel is probably the most beautiful piece of asphalt in the Netherlands.
This way there is something for everyone in this route collection. If you do not agree with these 10 routes, please send us an e-mail, indicate which route(s) should be removed and which route you would like to see instead. Maybe your route will be included in this collection of the 10 most beautiful routes in the Netherlands!
