Finish that off with a trip to a distillery making good ol' Moonshine and Whiskey...all legal of course.

RouteXpert Review Leaving our hotel in Waynesboro we are soon heading to The Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. (Shenandoah National Park entrance fee – Single Vehicle – $30.00) The Skyline Drive runs 105 miles north and south along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Shenandoah National Park and is the only public road through the Park. It takes about three hours to travel the entire length of the Park on a clear day. In 1924, plans were put together for a national park in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The main feature was to be a "sky-line drive" that would provide views of the surrounding land. Work started in 1931, with the road completed in sections, with the final section in 1939.
Deer, black bear, wild turkey, and a host of other woodland animals call Shenandoah home and regularly cross Skyline Drive in their daily travels. Watch carefully for these animals who may dart across your path without warning.
There are 75 different overlooks that offer Stunning views of both the Shenandoah National Park or the piedmont in the east. But with 75 scenic overlooks, it won’t be long before you start feeling stunning mountain viewpoint fatigue. Yes, it does happen. Crazy to think, you can just wave another incredible viewpoint away as you keep driving. They can start looking the same.
Skyline Drive is the on single public road through the park and there is one Gas Station at Big Meadows, so your visit needs to be planned to ensure you are not left stranded somewhere.
The roadsides are purposely unmowed, so wildflowers can be on display all year long. Take in the vibrant colours of azaleas, cardinal flower, black-eyed Susans, goldenrod, and trillium peeking through the tall grass.
After departing from Skyline Drive we head into Culpepper County and home to Belmont Farms Distillery. For many years the whisky has been made in the backwoods, but for the last 30 this is now available for everyone. When Tim Smith of US show 'Moonshiners' decided to take his business legitimate it was Chuck and Belmont Farm that he ended up partnering with to sell his Climax Moonshine.
The final stretch is the ride into Fairfax where we finish the day, so Mountains, Moonshine and Memories end this glorious 4 star day
