Hotel Schloss Bad Ragaz
Along the way you pass many forest areas and various lakes. Several stops are planned along the way to give you enough rest. But feel free to deviate from this yourself.
As you drive south, you cross the Black Forest Biosphärengebiet, a reference to the biosphere reserve in the German Black Forest. This special reserve, located in southwestern Germany, includes diverse habitats, such as forests, wetlands and cultural landscapes. It is noteworthy that today this area has been given the status of a protected area by UNESCO.
After some time, the imposing Altvogelbachfels will appear in front of you, located at an altitude of approximately 900 meters above sea level. This striking rock formation rises majestically 30 meters above the surrounding landscape. Along the way, you will also pass through picturesque forest areas that stretch along numerous mountain ranges. Not much further away you will find the old ruins of Neu-Waldeck, also called 'Burg Neu-Waldeck'. No stop is planned, but it is nice to know that the original castle dates from the 11th century and played a role in defense and provided shelter for the government for the surrounding region.
A little further south at Schwörtstad you drive east along the Rhine to the town of Laufenburg where you have a coffee stop.
Shortly afterwards you cross the Germany-Switzerland border in the middle of the Rhine.
In Switzerland you drive directly to the north side of Jura Park Aargau, which is known for its beautiful views and famous among hikers and cyclists. This area is characterized by rolling hills, forests, meadows and small villages and is wedged between rivers (the Aare and the Rhine) and is located on the border between the Jura and Basel. The varied terraced landscape forms the largest nature and relaxation area characterized by pine trees. vegetation, orchid slopes, rock steppes, “Trockenwiesen” and vineyards.
At Brugg you cross the Aare river via the Casinobrücke. Pay attention to this because immediately after the tunnel a confusing situation arises: Keep left immediately after the tunnel to turn left at the intersection. Then you drive southeast towards Zurich where you can stop in Bonstetten for lunch.
The city's name is derived from the German term "Bundestetten", meaning "settlement of the union", which can refer to a historical community or alliance.
You will certainly experience whether the bends go smoother with a full stomach after the lunch stop, because after five kilometers you wind via the Türlersee to the Zürichsee. Just below Langau you will find the Wildnispark Zürich Sihlwal.
The Sihlwald area came into the possession of the city of Zurich in 1309 as a gift from the Habsburgs and in 1524 with the closure of the Fraumünster monastery. A photo opportunity has been included at the visitor center of this park.
Then you follow the Sihl River for about ten kilometers along this park, after which you turn towards Zürichsee at the Sihl Bridge. At Wädenswil you follow Lake Zürich up to Schloss Pfäffikon, where you have another coffee stop, but along the way you should definitely not miss the Seedamm Visitor Well. The beautiful view from this point makes it worth stopping here to take a photo.
The next stop is along the Walensee near the town of Filzbach.
34 KM further you enter the next country Lichtenstein.
Certainly, anyone who has ever had the chance to visit Liechtenstein will agree that this country is worth exploring. It is true that you only cross Liechtenstein for a distance of only 7 kilometers, but this does not detract from the charm and interesting aspects that this small country has to offer.
Contrary to popular belief, Liechtenstein is certainly not the smallest country in Europe; that honor goes to Vatican City. Moreover, even Monaco and San Marino are even smaller compared to Liechtenstein. The fact that Liechtenstein is compact actually makes it easier to experience much of the beauty and culture of this country in a short time.
Just after Liechtenstein it is only a 10km drive to the finish of this day. On the way you will make a fuel stop and then spend the night at Hotel Schloz Ragaz. The hotel is housed in an attractive castle dating from the 13th century and offers guests a unique and luxurious experience. If you feel like it you can enjoy thermal baths, spa treatments and much more. The hotel has several restaurants where guests can enjoy delicious gastronomic dishes and wines. But of course they also serve a regular beer. You can start every day with a breakfast buffet. Swiss specialties and international dishes are served in the restaurant. Free and private parking is available on site.
And as a final tip: Take a dip in the pool, enjoy this accommodation, eat well, drink well and rest well.

Liechtenstein
About this region
Liechtenstein ( (listen) LIK-tən-styne; German: [ˈlɪçtn̩ʃtaɪn]), officially the Principality of Liechtenstein (German: Fürstentum Liechtenstein), is a German-speaking microstate situated in the Alps between Austria and Switzerland, which are located in Central Europe. The principality is a semi-constitutional monarchy headed by the Prince of Liechtenstein; the Prince's extensive powers are equivalent to those of a President in a semi-presidential system like France.
Liechtenstein is bordered by Switzerland to the west and south and Austria to the east and north. It is Europe's fourth-smallest country, with an area of just over 160 square kilometres (62 square miles) and a population of 38,749. Divided into 11 municipalities, its capital is Vaduz, and its largest municipality is Schaan. It is also the smallest country to border two countries. Liechtenstein and Uzbekistan make up the only two doubly landlocked countries in the world.
Economically, Liechtenstein has one of the highest gross domestic products per person in the world when adjusted for purchasing power parity. The country has a strong financial sector centred in Vaduz. It was once known as a billionaire tax haven, but is no longer on any official blacklists of uncooperative tax haven countries. An Alpine country, Liechtenstein is mountainous, making it a winter sport destination.
Liechtenstein is a member of the United Nations, the European Free Trade Association, and the Council of Europe. Although not a member of the European Union, it participates in both the Schengen Area and the European Economic Area. It has a customs union and a monetary union with Switzerland.
