Route Summary
"Let's go cornering". After driving this route you understand that a new verb has been born. The route goes through Tuscany, one of the most beautiful areas in Italy. From Dicomano it goes straight into top gear as far as corners are concerned and this just keeps going. You can sell the center profile of your front tire almost as new.The route is pretty much on small Tuscan roads and you have a beautiful spectacle from your sights continuously. A regular stop is on the Passa del Muraglione where many motorcyclists meet. After the ride you can relax and come to your senses in the renovated eighteenth-century monastery. Because of all these advantages, the route gets 5 stars.

RouteXpert Review
Sit back and relax, because this will be a ride you will never forget. Forget all those beautiful pictures of the Tuscan landscape, during this ride, which goes over numerous hills and passes, you see them in real life. Moreover, you will wonder whether you have had too much to drink the night before, because you will be dizzy how many bends you take here on mainly good asphalt. You start from Villa Morelli. A converted 18th-century monastery, which still exudes everything from that period. Once on the road, things are going well. After about 8 kilometers you have already hit the first hairpin bends and the road meanders through the wonderfully beautiful landscape. As far as that is concerned, you are in the right place in Tuscany. You drive alternately through wooded areas, but also on some more open areas, where you have beautiful vistas.
In one of those open spaces, just before Pratovecchio Stia, Castello di Porciano towers high above the landscape on your left. This 1200 year old castle has been converted into a museum with, traditionally, a picturesque small village around the castle. You don't have time for that now because you will be cornering! In Stia you can see another castle the Palagio Fiorentino. A museum is also housed here. By the way, you will see many old striking buildings in Tuscany whose purpose has changed. Monasteries etc. have often been converted into hotels and castles into museums. It is wonderful that all this has been preserved.
Enough about castles and monasteries, you turn out of the village and get more or less the same as the first part for you: hairpin bends and views. You will see that it is not a high-lying area like the Dolomites, but winter sports are still possible here on a limited scale, in winter of course. You keep putting your motorcycle ear to ear and soon you stop at Bar Impero for a well-deserved cup of coffee… which sounds much nicer in Italian, of course, and therefore tastes better.
After the coffee you ascend again and you turn again, in your head you have already stopped counting how many turns you have already had. Small consolation: there are many more to come. After about 40 km after the coffee stop you will not only see the beautiful Tuscan landscape, but also the highest mountain in this region, Ripa della Moia, on the right-hand side. A little later you drive into the town of Sarsina and stop at restaurant and pizzeria Zelus, where you can enjoy a well-deserved lunch.
You continue on and you realize: YES! I'm only half way! You drive out of Sarsina and sure enough, there it starts again! The roads are good, sometimes just re-surfaced. And you start to understand why well-known Italian brands take their test rides around here. This way you can always make sports bikes, especially if the road builders also cooperate!
Just when you're almost drunk again from putting your motorbike back and forth, on sometimes very narrow roads, you stop to take a picture at a place where you have a clear view over the landscape. You drive on and you stay “on top” and continue to thunder through the Tuscany on narrow gauge. The road is now a bit smoother, wider with the occasional couple of delicious hairpins. Just before your next stop you get off again. You park your trusty motorized two-wheeler on the left of the road in front of the old abandoned building and you can take beautiful pictures of Monte Uccello from that side of the road. 5km further you get off at the gas station and fill up. You drive into the opposite road and you can take a refreshment on one of the terraces in this ancient center of Rocca San Casciano.
You drive out of the village in a south-westerly direction via a small circle. You soon notice that the road becomes wider and tighter, even more bends. Yes this is going to be tough. You have the idea that you have arrived at a track. And just before the Passo del Muraglione you wonder if you are not in the Dolomites. Sharp hairpin bends alternate. You steer left and right and left and right and… after 8 or 9 hairpins you can breathe easy and roll the last meters and you are on the pass. Here you can have a drink, take pictures and perhaps there is an Italian moped who wants to tell you something about his motorcycle.
The last piece is in front of you. After San Godenzo the intensity decreases and you can relax the last kilometers to the monastery.
Once you have arrived, you are still dizzy, your speech slowly starts up again and you stammer: it was GREAT (AD)IG! Another round tomorrow? This was a real rollercoaster at times, but man oh man did you enjoy the Tuscany? It is indeed even more beautiful in reality than in the photos.

12 tours in the Tuscany holiday region
Located in the heart of Italy, Tuscany is one of the most beautiful regions of the country. This is due to the combination of an abundance of art treasures and a fascinatingly beautiful nature.
This is a region for those who love natural beauty and genuine art of living, heartwarming hospitality and spontaneous pride. This is a captivating story written by the Medicis and Dante Alighieri, colored by Michelangelo and Botticelli. A region that cherishes its ancient treasures and preserves its harmony, which winds its way through wheat fields and vineyards, past Etruscans and Romans, Renaissance and Middle Ages.
Those looking for the ideal mix of culture, art, history, nature and gastronomy will certainly find what they are looking for in Tuscany.
In these 12 tours - between 180 and 220 km - you always leave from the holiday home in Montespertoli. The journeys are shorter when visiting Firenze, Siena and San Gimignano because of course you will spend a lot of time in these beautiful cities.
Tuscan landscapes can be recognized by their diversity and their beautiful appearance. Nature is overwhelming and much has been preserved. If things have been adjusted, then this has always been done with respect for nature. Witness of this is the geothermal area in the south.
