Alblasserdam Dordrecht Biesbosch

Nice and central in the Netherlands, this 2018-Biesbosch tour. And how could it be otherwise, a fairly watery route where you drive along the edges of the Alblas and the Giessen. Where the highlight in the form of the namesake of this road book tour must of course still come!
The lovers of ferries during their almost 145 kilometers long route are well catered for. In total we sail three times across the water: the Waal at Brakel, the Bergsche Maas at Dussen and the Nieuwe Merwede just before Dordrecht. Make sure you have enough change with you. On the way you often look down on the roofs of the dyke houses. These are really at the foot of the dike so you often only see the roofs. Because of the dike elevations, there are even houses that have disappeared completely behind the dike.

The first MotoPlusPoint can be found in Nederhemert. Eetcafe De Maasstroom dates back to 1775 and from the terrace you have a beautiful view over the Afgedamde Maas. Just before you cross the Bergsche Maas, you drive a bit through the Overdiepse polder. This is a project that was carried out in the context of Room for the River. The dikes have been lowered here so that the underlying land can run under high water. Thanks to mounds, the farms still keep their feet dry. Further down is the second MotoPlusPoint on this route: Delicious in Hank. You can choose between the restaurant or the cafeteria.
Afterwards it goes quickly past the National Park De Biesbosch. It is hardly possible to really drive through it, nevertheless you get a beautiful glimpse into this fantastic, water-rich environment.
