Grauwe Kat
In Friesland, the route winds further along the most beautiful roads and the rural dike roads around Harlingen. At Skom, a modern pavilion on the Afsluitdijk, you can enjoy a short break with a view over the water. Further on lies De Hel, a small and mysterious town where you should definitely take a picture - because how often can you say that you have been to 'De Hel'? A highlight of this route is the Grauwe Kat, a hamlet with a special history and a unique name. Here you will also find Studiohotel De Grauwe Kat, a perfect place for musicians and travelers looking for peace and creativity. Then you drive through historic Harlingen, with its picturesque harbors and maritime atmosphere.
The last part of the route takes you through Sexbierum, perhaps the most famous special place name in the Netherlands. Although the name itself is a reason to stop, the village also offers a rich history and a beautiful rural environment. You end your ride at Hotel De Harmonie, where you can refuel, check in and enjoy a relaxing evening after a great day on the bike.
