Route Summary No amount of pictures or words could fully convey just how utterly fantastic this route is. My wife and I rode our motorcycles on most of this route in May 2016 and the memories are still very clear. We will return, very soon!
This route is best ridden with 2 overnight stops. I have suggested Durness for the 1st night and Gairloch Hotel for the 2nd night stop.
For obvious reasons this route gets top marks from me so I have awarded 5***** stars.

RouteXpert Review Some hardcore motorcyclists like to 'bag' this route in one day! I think this route and the absolutely breath-taking scenery, deserves a minimum of two nights, therefore I have planned two overnight stops. The first in a very nice, budget hostel (I have stayed there) and another in a mid priced hotel, links for booking these will be below this review. The NC500 has it's own very good website too with lots of information, I will place a link for this below. You can even hire a motorcycle at Inverness where the NC500 officially starts from, another link below. I have also included a link to a video from John O'Groats to Durness that I shot on our tour in May, 2016.
