Day 5 we drive from Bryce Canyon City to Salinas, but first we will enjoy the Bryce Canyon National Park with its beautiful red rocks, pink cliffs and endless views. Hoodoos (irregular rock columns) exist on every continent, but this is where the largest concentration in the world can be seen. So take the time to contemplate this wonder of nature. The entrance is $20 per motorcycle.

We drive back to Bryce City where we fill the tank and possibly buy some provisions for the road. The next stop is after 15km at the Bryce Wildlife Adventure Park. Here you can visit a museum with collections of animals, fish, reptiles and insects from around the world.
More exciting is renting an ATV (2 or 4 hours) to explore Bryce National Park from the dirt roads, the ride offers you the perfect wildlife experience. With no guides or special tours, you have the freedom to enjoy the ATV trails your way. They rent Polaris Crew 4×4 and 6×6 ATVs. The cost for 2 hours is $295

After all this action, it's time for lunch. Less than 2 minutes' drive away is Bryce Canyon Restaurant, famous for their all-American menu, including their "Best of America's Food Champion" recognized pies. When it comes to homemade country food, the Bryce Canyon Restaurant is the real deal.

The next stop is at the house where Butch Cassidy grew up. Butch was the eldest of 13 children, and was born Robert LeRoy Parker on April 13, 1866, in Beaver, Utah. His grandparents and parents were Mormons who moved from England to America in the 1850s in response to Brigham Young's call to help overseas members of the Church of the Latter-day Saints plant communities in Utah.
In 1879, the Parker family moved to a piece of land near Circleville, Utah, where they kept livestock on this farm. To contribute to his family's finances, the future Butch Cassidy left home to work on other ranches in the area.
At the age of 13, while working on one of these ranches, he first encountered the law after being accused of stealing coveralls from a store. As the story goes, he had taken a long drive into town to find that the store was closed, so he let himself in, took the pants and wrote a note promising to return with payment. Instead, the shop owner had him arrested. Although the teen was released, the experience reportedly left him resentful of the justice system and those in authority. He and his gang "the Wild Bunch" became notorious as horse thieves and train and bank robbers. He fled to South America where he died on November 7, 1908.

We continue on the beautiful US 89 with a nice twisty section at Marysvale Valley, here the road meanders along the Sevier River between high mountains. 16 kilometers after this beautiful valley, the 2 lane US 89 turns into a 4 lane highway, so we leave the US 89 here and continue on country roads.

In the town of Mornoe we visit the Red Hill Hot Springs, a hot spring at the foot of a (you guessed it) red hill. The Springs are free to the public and open year round. Recently improvements have been made to the road, making the terrain more accessible to any vehicle. Red Hill Hot Springs has a natural hot spring that flows down a red rock face. The water at the top almost boils, but cools as it comes down. The water collects in several pools at the base of the hill, each slightly cooler than the last.

Via Richfield we drive to Salina, the end point of this beautiful day.
