For more than 60 years, “The House on the Rock” has been a majestic work in progress. It started in 1945, when a man named Alex Jordan had a lofty goal: to build a man-made retreat as awe-inspiring as the view from the rock on which the house would eventually be built. From Alex's imagination, “The House on the Rock” has evolved to include exhibitions and collections of the exotic, the unusual and the astonishing.
Part of "The House on the Rock" tells the story about the man behind this special museum, there are museums with vintage cars, about aviation, about seafaring, and there are the 13 rooms of the house with a beautiful opulent interior and exterior. there are beautiful gardens including a Japanese garden. Allow at least two hours to see everything.
The next stop is at Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center from here all tours start to Frank Lloyds Taliesin. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours. Immerse yourself in Taliesin's unique blend of architecture, culture, nature and agriculture in Spring Green. At Taliesin Preservation, they preserve Frank Lloyd Wright's natural, cultural, and built environments and conduct public educational programs that provide a better understanding of his architecture and ideas. Lunch is scheduled at Riverview Terrace Café, next to the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center.
We drive via beautiful state roads to northern Wisconsin, along the way we pass a number of rivers, lakes and the Horicon Marsh, with an area of more than 33,000 hectares this is one of the largest freshwater marshes in the United States and a crucial resting place for thousands migrating ducks and Canadian geese. The northern two-thirds are managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as the 22,000-acre Horicon National Wildlife Refuge. The southern third of the marsh, 11,000 acres, is managed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as Horicon Marsh State Wildlife Area. There are three visitor centers and numerous hiking trails and other outdoor facilities available.
The Marsh Haven Nature Center is the northern visitor center located along the route and is an option to visit, there are numerous hiking trails and other outdoor facilities available to visitors.
Via Fond Du Lac, where we stop briefly at the local Harley-Davidson Dealership for a Poker Chip, we drive north along the shores of Lake Winnebago, passing small villages along the way where you can plan a short stop for a drink or the food.
We visit the Military Veterans Museum and Education Center in Oshkosh, this museum honors all veterans who served to protect the US. It is mainly a collection of old military vehicles. The non-vehicle part of the museum is quite small. There is no entrance fee.
After a short drive we stop at the EAA Aviation Museum, formerly the EAA AirVenture Museum (or Air Adventure Museum), this museum is dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of historic and experimental aircraft, as well as antiques, classics and warbirds. . The museum is located next to Wittman Regional Airport, home to the museum's sponsoring organization, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), and the organization's EAA AirVenture Oshkosh event, the world's largest fly-in and air show that hosts every year is organized at the end of July/beginning of August.
The museum has exhibits with more than 200 aircraft, indoors and outdoors, and other exhibitions and activities, and also occasionally organizes nearby airplane flights for visitors. The AirVenture Museum is a major tourist attraction in Oshkosh and a hub of activity each summer during the AirVenture fly-in and airshow. The museum is open all year round, with the exception of some public holidays.
The end point of this beautiful day is downtown Oshkosh, we will spend the night at Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center on the banks of the Fox River.

Wisconsin
About this region
Wisconsin is a state in the upper Midwestern United States, bordered by Minnesota to the west; Iowa to the southwest; Illinois to the south; Lake Michigan to the east; Michigan to the northeast; and Lake Superior to the north. Wisconsin is the 25th-largest state by total area and the 20th-most populous.
Three of its largest cities are situated on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan, these include the largest, Milwaukee, as well as Green Bay and Kenosha, the third and fourth most populated Wisconsin cities respectively. The state capital, Madison, is currently the second most populated and fastest growing city in the state. Wisconsin is divided into 72 counties and as of the 2020 census had a population of nearly 5.9 million.Wisconsin's geography is diverse, having been greatly impacted by glaciers during the Ice Age with the exception of the Driftless Area. The Northern Highland and Western Upland along with a part of the Central Plain occupies the western part of the state, with lowlands stretching to the shore of Lake Michigan. Wisconsin is third to Ontario and Michigan in the length of its Great Lakes coastline. The northern portion of the state is home to the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest.
At the time of European contact the area was inhabited by Algonquian and Siouan nations, and today is home to eleven federally recognized tribes. During the 19th and early 20th centuries many European settlers entered the state, most of whom emigrated from Germany and Scandinavia. Wisconsin remains a center of German American and Scandinavian American culture. The state is one of the nation's leading dairy producers and is known as "America's Dairyland"; it is particularly famous for its cheese. The state is also famous for its beer, particularly and historically in Milwaukee. Its economy is dominated by manufacturing, healthcare, information technology, and agriculture; specifically dairy, cranberries and ginseng. Tourism is also a major contributor to the state's economy. The gross domestic product in 2020 was $348 billion.

The ultimate Great Lakes Tour
This is a tour from Chicago to Staten Island, New York visiting the 5 Great Lakes of North America.
Starting from EagleRider Motorcycle rental at Illinois Harley-Davidson in Chicago and ending at EagleRider Motorcycle rental in Staten Island.
The Ultimate Great Lakes tour is a route through the United States and Canada to scenic destinations along Lakes Michigan, Superior, Huron, Erie and Ontario.
What are the Great Lakes? The Great Lakes are a series of five interconnected freshwater lakes located on the border of the United States and Canada. They are the largest group of freshwater lakes in the world by area and have sea-like characteristics such as rolling waves, strong currents, miles of sandy and rocky beaches, and distant horizons. This tour of 8 routes includes places to stop for coffee, lunch and overnight hotels. It also visits well known historic and scenic sites along the way mostly avoiding major highways. I have suggested 2 nights at Lake Superior and 2 nights at Niagara Falls, making this a 10 day tour, but of course, that is up to you. The scenery and landscapes are breathtaking and each day is different to the next. Please enjoy.

Ultimate USA road trip 08
Michel van Hagen challenged me to follow the Roadtrip of Dr. Randy Olsen as a basis to create the Ultimate USA Road Trip for the MyRoute app RouteXpert Library. I took up that challenge and started in February 2022.
The scientist Dr. Randy Olsen, who became known for using his knowledge of algorithms to find 'Waldo' in the well-known American 'Where's Waldo' book series, has been challenged by Tracy Staedter, from Discovery News, to use the same algorithm to create the perfect Road Trip by creating the US, which will visit almost every state in the US. Alaska and Hawaii are not included in this Road Trip due to their geographical location.
The following three requirements formed the basis of the route: In all 48 countries there must be at least one stop at famous points, monuments, historical sites, national parks, etc. I have added additional interesting points, beautiful tours and routes.
After more than 26 months, the job is finished and, with a lot of support from Nick Carthew, I have created 129 routes that run through the 48 states of the USA and part of Canada. This is the eighth collection that takes you from Mackinaw City in ten days through Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee to Springfield, Illinois.
