Today you travel through the Derbyshire Dales to the Cotswolds, also known as an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty". The route is characterized by the mostly winding roads through beautiful landscapes where you can enjoy the beautiful views. You will also pass a number of rivers today, some of which are included in this review. It is definitely worth a stop at one of these rivers. The views are beautiful! The Wyre Forest Visitors Center at route point 28 is also highly recommended to visit.
Once you arrive in Birdlip, look up Hotel The Royal George for the night.
This route has been made suitable for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-App Navigation.

Blithfield Reservoir (rp 9)
You leave in a southerly direction. When you pass Ashbourne you will come just before Mayfield, across the River Dove. This is the main river of the southwestern Peak District and is approximately 45 miles long. The river rises on Ax Edge Moor near Buxton and generally flows south to its confluence with the River Trent at Newton Solney.
After Mayfield the views start to get beautiful. You can then look very far away at the beautiful hilly landscapes. Between the trees you can see here and there, the sparkles of the Dove, which accompanied us on the left side of the road.
Just before the place Admaston you come to the Blithfield Reservoir, a large raw water reservoir. The approximately 800 acre reservoir was formed on land sold to the South Staffordshire Water Works by Baron Bagot in the 1940s. In clear weather you can enjoy the beautiful view over the water. The route passes over this reservoir.
In Hednesford you will pass a Texaco gas station. This is located directly on the main road. You could fill the tank here and / or have a cup of coffee.
After about 20 kilometers you will arrive at the Boscobel House *, you can turn right a little further than route point 14 and then drive left into the parking lot.
* The Boscobel House is a Grade II listed building in the parish of Boscobel in Shropshire. At various times it was a farm, a hunting lodge and a holiday home; but it is most famous for its role in the escape of Charles II after the Battle of Worcester in 1651. A great opportunity to take a look around or take some pictures.
If you then pass under the M54 motorway after a few kilometers, the route turns right. This is a very nice part of the route, but beware! The road is less maintained here and there may be loose gravel. The road can be slippery, especially in wet weather (RP 15 to RP 16). It is also a fantastic beautiful road to drive with the motorcycle.
Then it is time for a cup of coffee. A nice opportunity for this is the Pigor Arms in Pattingham. They are open from 12 noon (Saturday and Sunday from 11 am). In good weather you can sit outside and there is plenty of parking.
After coffee you come back to drive on some nice quiet roads, motorcycling can be beautiful. After about 40 kilometers, just when you cross the river Severn for the first time, there is a beautiful museum, the Bewdley Museum. It is a hidden gem situated in the heart of the beautiful riverside market town of Bewdley, rich in Georgian heritage. On the edge of the historic Wyre Forest, Bewdley is an ideal starting point for many scenic walks and provides easy access to local attractions such as Severn Valley Railway and West Midlands Safari Park.
The visit takes you back in time, not only to the history of the Georgian city, but also to the surrounding Wyre Forest area. The Garden Kitchen cafe and Garden bar are also perfect places to relax and enjoy lunch or a treat at the museum.
Here you can enjoy visual crafts demonstrations, audio histories, hands-on activities, imaginatively displayed artifacts, tactile displays and a sensory herb garden with water feature. You can even discover what it was like to be locked up in the city prisons!
Admission to the historical museum free. But donations are of course welcome to enable them to continue to bring the heritage and culture of this area to everyone.
The Wyre Forest Center is a stone's throw away. The forest surrounding it offers a great day outdoors with activities for everyone. Enjoy the 3-way marked hiking trails, the family bike routes, bike rental, Go Ape, playground and / or café on site, all in an ever-changing window to nature in this breathtaking setting. Experience the forest from the high Go Ape course (rope courses in the trees).
Even four-legged friends are received here with open arms at the dog-friendly on-site cafe, Dog Wash!
You could choose to have lunch at the Wyre Forest Center or drive a little further to Newham Bridge. The Talbot Inn restaurant is a good choice. The bouncers are very good here and it is fine to park your motorcycle here.
After lunch you get nicely filled and rested on the bike. The rolling roads and curves show you views from beautiful to breathtaking! The hilly roads are especially fantastic with very beautiful views.
Just after route point 32 is a small parking lot, you could stop here to enjoy the beautiful view.
After about 75 kilometers just after the town of Maisemore you cross the River Severn for the 2nd time, with its 354 km the longest British river. The river rises at an altitude of 610 meters on the Plynlimon near Llanidloes, in the Cambrian Mountains, Mid Wales, and passes through a number of English counties, including the towns of Worcester, Gloucester and Shrewsbury.
After this it is still about 20 kilometers to enjoy and drive on lovely roads until the end of this day.
You might consider refueling in Blockworh, about 10 kilometers before the final destination, to be ready for the next day's route.
The petrol station is on the route (rp 43). Once you arrive here in Birdlip you can visit the hotel Royal George for the overnight stay.
Along the route you have several options to stop for a cup of coffee, some food or take a photo. I have included the places where we stopped in the details. This route has been given 4 stars because the roads are of relatively good quality, with beautiful views. There are also some nice sights included to stop for a while.

About this region
The points of the compass are an evenly spaced set of horizontal directions (or azimuths) used in navigation and geography. A compass rose is primarily composed of four cardinal directions—north, east, south, and west—each separated by 90 degrees, and secondarily divided by four ordinal (intercardinal) directions—northeast, southeast, southwest, and northwest—each located halfway between two cardinal directions. Some disciplines such as meteorology and navigation further divide the compass with additional azimuths. Within European tradition, a fully defined compass has 32 'points' (and any finer subdivisions are described in fractions of points).Compass points are valuable in that they allow a user to refer to a specific azimuth in a colloquial fashion, without having to compute or remember degrees.
