Neder-Rijn
The Route Starts in the bustling city of Tilburg, a city with an industrial history that has become a creative hotspot in recent years. You head to Haaren, a quiet village that is the perfect start to your journey through the Brabant countryside.
Along the way, you'll pass the picturesque Maaskantje, where you can let time stand still for a moment. This village became world famous thanks to the hilarious "New Kids" films. But for you, it's all about the freedom of the open road. Meander on to Empel, where you'll come across the Zuid-Willemsvaart, one of the oldest canals in the Netherlands. Follow the canal towards the Maximakanaal and see how the water brings the landscape to life.
When you drive towards Megen, you will come face to face with the majestic Maas. A stop at Koetshuisje 'De Wieger' in Lith is an absolute must for a short break. This charming coach house exudes nostalgia and gives you a glimpse into Brabant's past.
The Maas will keep you company as you drive through Megen and Ravenstein. Both cities breathe history and offer you beautiful views over the river. Ravenstein, with its old city walls and mills, is a perfect place to stretch your legs and soak up some culture.
Via Velp and Grave you will arrive at the John S. Thomson Bridge. This bridge over the Maas offers you a spectacular view and is a technical gem to admire. Once you have crossed the bridge, you dive into Gelderland and follow the route the Waal, one of the most important rivers in the Netherlands.
Nijmegen, the oldest city in the country, is your next stop. A vibrant city full of history, from Roman times to World War II. It is hard not to get off and take a walk through the city center. Or take a look along the Waalkade for a breath of fresh air and a panoramic view of the river.
The road now takes you along the Neder Rijn, towards Valburg and Driel. This region, the Overbetuwe, is known for its vast orchards and the peace it exudes. This is the moment to slow down and fully enjoy the wide view.
At Driel your path crosses the famous Rhine bridges, which played an important role during the Battle of Arnhem in World War II. If you are interested in history, a stop at the Airborne Museum in Arnhem is recommended.
Just outside Arnhem you will find one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands: National Park De Hoge Veluwe. This park is a paradise for nature lovers and offers a breathtaking setting for a short walk or a quiet lunch break.
As you continue driving, you will also pass Museum Vliegbasis Deelen, an interesting museum about the role of this former air base during the Second World War. A perfect mix of nature and history as you continue north. Please note that the museum is unfortunately only open on Saturdays and Sundays.
After a dose of nature, you head towards Apeldoorn and Deventer. Deventer is a historic Hanseatic city on the IJssel, with a beautiful old centre. Here you will find narrow streets full of characteristic facades and cosy terraces where you can relax for a while. This city breathes history, but has a modern, vibrant atmosphere.
The route now follows the IJssel, a river that surprises you again and again with its winding bends and picturesque views. Via the village of Terwolde you reach the ferry from Vorchten to Wijhe. This ferry crossing is a small adventure in itself and offers you a unique perspective on the water landscape of the IJssel.
After the ferry, you will head to the peaceful Dalfsen, where your motorcycle tour ends. This charming village, surrounded by green meadows and the winding Vecht, offers the perfect ending to your tour. Here you can enjoy the ride with a well-earned drink on a terrace, while you look back on an unforgettable day full of beautiful landscapes, culture and adventure.
The route includes a number of places for a drink and a bite to eat for yourself and your motorbike, are you obliged to stop here? No, of course you can also determine your own stops.

De Hoge Veluwe National Park
About this region
De Hoge Veluwe National Park is a Dutch national park in the province of Gelderland near the cities of Ede, Wageningen, Arnhem and Apeldoorn. It is approximately 55 km2 (14,000 acres; 21 sq mi) in area, consisting of heathlands, sand dunes, and woodlands. It is situated in the Veluwe, the area of the largest terminal moraine in the Netherlands. Most of the landscape of the park and the Veluwe was created during the last Ice Age. The alternating sand dune areas and heathlands may have been caused by human utilization of the surrounding lands. The park forms one of the largest continuous nature reserves in the Netherlands.

The 10 most beautiful car and motorcycle routes in the Netherlands
These 10 routes in the Netherlands have been carefully selected, checked and made equal for TomTom, Garmin and MyRoute-app Navigation by a MyRoute-app RouteXpert. The 10 most beautiful motorcycle and car routes in the Netherlands are always a snapshot, and a personal opinion of the reviewer. This does not alter the fact that every lover of beautiful roads and interesting sights will enjoy these routes.
The ten routes are spread over 10 provinces, we only skipped Flevoland and South Holland. Interesting routes can also be found in the MyRoute app RouteXpert library, but we still want to stick to the 10 most beautiful and not the 12 most beautiful.
Enjoy the many fortresses and castles that are included in the routes, such as Fort Veldhuis in North Holland. But also take a look at the route southeast of Nijmegen and visit the impressive Canadian War Cemetery and Memorial. The route 'Overijssel in bird's eye view' includes the oldest house in the Netherlands and the route along the IJssel is probably the most beautiful piece of asphalt in the Netherlands.
This way there is something for everyone in this route collection. If you do not agree with these 10 routes, please send us an e-mail, indicate which route(s) should be removed and which route you would like to see instead. Maybe your route will be included in this collection of the 10 most beautiful routes in the Netherlands!
