Southern Ohio at it's finest ... tight twisty roads with a boatload of elevation changes. After McConnelsville it opens up to more of a fast sweeping road and tightens again. Its a real blast, enjoy.
Some try to compare it to the Tail of the Dragon, but then don't most twisty roads. This road might not match US129 but it will still make you want to come back for more of this 3 star ride

The Windy 9 comprises nine motorcycle routes (each approximately 50 to 100 miles) covering nearly 1,000 miles of well-maintained roads! The Scenic Windy 9 takes riders through some of Ohio’s most stunning landscapes including the Wayne National Forest, Hocking Hills, and numerous state parks and forests. You’ll pass by covered bridges, beautiful farmland, charming small towns and wind along the mighty Ohio River!
The “Rim of the World” takes riders in a loop along State Route 78, northeast of Athens. Passing through Glouster, Ringgold, McConnelsville, Stockport, Chesterhill, Sharpsburg, Amesville and returning riders to Athens. This ride is all about the journey not the destination, the Windy 9 were put together to allow riders to enjoy the roads. So if you want turn after turn with constant undulation, then this is a ride for you.
The great thing about this ride is that once you have completed it and returned to Athens it is possible to turn around and go back the other way.
There are places to stop along the way if you want, but sometimes it is about the riding. So enjoy this 3 star ride and strike off number 1 on the Windy 9
