Route Summary I have further supplemented the Road Trip with even more special points that you can visit in the USA. This 21st route we leave Colorado and drive to Dodge City in Kansas.
The route is on less beautiful and challenging roads such as in the Rocky Mountains, we drive through the wide plains in Colorado and Kansas. There are a number of historical sites to visit along this route. I therefore rate this route with 3 stars.

RouteXpert Review After about a 20 minute drive we arrive at the Granada Relocation Center, better known as Camp Amache or Amache. This “relocation center” was one of 10 camps built in the United States during World War II for the purpose of incarcerating Japanese Americans and people of Japanese descent. The Granada location opened in the summer of 1942
More than 10,000 people stayed at Camp Amache, and at its peak it housed more than 7,300 inmates, two-thirds of whom were U.S. citizens. Today the site consists of a cemetery, a monument, building foundations and other architecture.
Five minutes away in Granada you can visit the Amache Museum, which chronicles the oft-forgotten history of 'relocation centers' in the US.
The museum houses artifacts from the 1940s and offers guided tours to better explain the area's dark past. These 'relocation centers' were basically functional concentration camps, in which those who stayed in them were imprisoned. The last center was closed in 1946.
The next stop is at the Hamilton County Museum in Syracuse. This historic building served as a prison and sheriff's residence until 1977. Also listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 1876 museum houses artifacts of historic interest, restored Victorian rooms, a research library, and prison cells that once housed the infamous Charles Manson and Ku Klux Klan leader, DC Stephenson.
Lunch is planned in Garden City, in this city there are many restaurants and fast food chains so there is something for everyone's taste. We continue our journey on US-50 to Dodge City. A short stop is planned at the Santa Fe Trail Remains, also known as the Santa Fe Trail Ruts, a 2-mile (3 km) section of the former 1,200-mile (1,900 km) Santa Fe Trail.
This section is the longest continuous remnant of the Santa Fe Trail in Kansas. The site is now owned by a conservation organization and is visible from Route 50 in the United States. The site was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1963.
We score another Poker Chip at the Most Wanted Harley-Davidson Dealer in Dodge City before driving downtown where we park the bikes at the Boot Hill Museum.
This museum's mission is to preserve and interpret the Old West through exhibits, education, and entertainment that reflect the area's rich heritage.
Visitors can relive the history and relive the legend of Dodge City in this authentic part of Dodge City.
Close to the museum is the 1139 Steam Engine, this is one of the 103 1050 Class Prairie type (2-6-2) steam locomotives built for the AT&SF; by Baldwin from 1902 to 1903.
Along Wyatt Earp Boulevard is a statue of Doc Holliday, where the famous gambler, gunfighter and dentist sits at a poker table. He was a good friend of Wyatt Earp.
We stay overnight at the Boothill Casino & Resort in Dodge City. Enthusiasts can neither venture nor gamble here in memory of Doc Holliday.

About this region
Kansas is a state in the Midwestern United States. Its capital is Topeka and its largest city is Wichita. Kansas is bordered by Nebraska to the north; Missouri to the east; Oklahoma to the south; and Colorado to the west. Kansas is named after the Kansas River, which in turn was named after the Kansa Native Americans who lived along its banks. The tribe's name (natively kką:ze) is often said to mean "people of the (south) wind" although this was probably not the term's original meaning. For thousands of years, what is now Kansas was home to numerous and diverse Native American tribes. Tribes in the eastern part of the state generally lived in villages along the river valleys. Tribes in the western part of the state were semi-nomadic and hunted large herds of bison.
The first Euro-American settlement in Kansas occurred in 1827 at Fort Leavenworth. The pace of settlement accelerated in the 1850s, in the midst of political wars over the slavery debate. When it was officially opened to settlement by the U.S. government in 1854 with the Kansas–Nebraska Act, abolitionist Free-Staters from New England and pro-slavery settlers from neighboring Missouri rushed to the territory to determine whether Kansas would become a free state or a slave state. Thus, the area was a hotbed of violence and chaos in its early days as these forces collided, and was known as Bleeding Kansas. The abolitionists prevailed, and on January 29, 1861, Kansas entered the Union as a free state, hence the unofficial nickname "The Free State".
By 2015, Kansas was one of the most productive agricultural states, producing high yields of wheat, corn, sorghum, and soybeans. Kansas, which has an area of 82,278 square miles (213,100 square kilometers) is the 15th-largest state by area and is the 34th most-populous of the 50 states with a population of 2,940,865 according to the 2020 census. Residents of Kansas are called Kansans. Mount Sunflower is Kansas's highest point at 4,039 feet (1,231 meters).

Ultimate USA road trip part 03
Michel van Hagen challenged me to follow the Roadtrip of Dr. Randy Olsen as a basis to create the Ultimate USA Road Trip for the MyRoute app RouteXpert Library. I took up that challenge and started in February 2022.
The scientist Dr. Randy Olsen, who became known for using his knowledge of algorithms to find 'Waldo' in the well-known American 'Where's Waldo' book series, has been challenged by Tracy Staedter, from Discovery News, to use the same algorithm to create the perfect Road Trip by creating the US, which will visit almost every state in the US. Alaska and Hawaii are not included in this Road Trip due to their geographical location.
The following three requirements formed the basis of the route: In all 48 countries there must be at least one stop at famous points, monuments, historical sites, national parks, etc. I have added additional interesting points, beautiful tours and routes.
After more than 26 months, the job is finished and, with a lot of support from Nick Carthew, I have created 129 routes that run through the 48 states of the USA and part of Canada. This is the third collection that takes you from Lamar in ten days through Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico to Waco, Texas.
