RouteXpert Review
On day 8 we drive from Kinsdale to Kilkenny. The route has many beautiful curves, the county of Cork is mainly hilly and beautiful but real mountains you will not encounter.
This route deserves 4 stars.
On the way you can visit Cork, the second largest city. Cork is located on an island in the River Lee and consists of a collection of cool cafes, dynamic galleries, unusual museums and insanely good pubs.
Just before Cork is Blarney Castle (RP6), this is the oldest and one of the most famous castles in Ireland. A ruin of the castle with the famous Blarney Stone, of which a kiss gives the gift of great eloquence. https://www.blarneycastle.ie/
If you are not into city life, you can turn right at RP4 at the roundabout and follow the South Ring Road to RP 12, where the route continues.
There are several Route points between RP12 and RP18 because TomTom and Here can not agree.
In Midleton is the Jameson Experience (RP19), well worth a visit.

You drive over beautiful narrow country roads through the hilly landscape of Cork, from Westpark (RP20) you follow R672, this is a beautiful two-lane road that meanders through the hills. Along the way you will pass several small villages where you can take a break in one of the many pubs.
In Cahir you can visit Cahir Castle (RP23), which is one of the largest remaining castles in Ireland. It is located on an island in the river Suir.

From Cahir we follow R639 to Cashel where we visit the Rock of Cashel (RP28). The Rock of Cashel is one of the most spectacular archaeological sites in Ireland and consists of a collection of medieval ecclesiastical buildings on an outcrop of limestone in the Golden Valley.

Again there is some disagreement between TomTom and Garmin.
From Cashel we drive via the R689 and R691 to our final destination Kilkenny. The city of Kilkenny is famous for its many medieval buildings in the center. The most important buildings are Killkenny Castle and Saint Canice's Cathedraleen. A very beautiful city with a lot of history and Kilkenny Castle is really beautiful and open to the public. http://kilkennycastle.ie/.
In the center a lot of good restaurant and cozy pubs, some with live music.
