This route starts in Kristiansund at the gas station, if necessary you can refuel here for the journey of almost 300km. Then we leave the city and drive 10 minutes to Seivika where we take the ferry to Fergekai. It departs every 30 minutes, the crossing takes 25 minutes and costs 156 NOK (€ 15.30).

We continue the journey on the fylkesvei (provincial road) 680 which leads partly along the coast but also through wooded areas. We also pass some lakes and the route contains many beautiful bridges that connect the smaller islands.

At RP4 we cross the Sålåsundet via the bridge "Soleimsundbrua". This bridge is a free development bridge in the municipality of Aure in Møre og Romsdal. The bridge connects Gullstein with Tustna. It was opened on July 1, 1978. The bridge is approximately 340 meters long.

At RP5 we take the bridge “Imarsundbrua” over Imarsundet. This is a steel box girder bridge between the island of Stabblandet and Jørnøya. It was opened on January 15, 2007 by the Minister of Transport and Communications, so there is a ferry-free road from Tømmervåg to the municipal center Aure and on to Kyrksæterøra and Trondheim. The Imarsund Bridge is 550 meters long, with 5 spans, the longest at 120 meters. It is part of Fv680 and, together with Litjsundbrua, replaces the Aukan - Vinsternes ferry section. The ferry crossing took 15 minutes and the ferry only ran once every hour.

At RP6 we take the bridge “Litjsundbrua”, this is a concrete box girder bridge with a total length of 300 meters, and a main span of 160 meters. The bridge has two lanes of the Fv680 and spans the Litlsund, a strait between the islands of Ertvågsøya and Jørnøya, part of the junction of the larger Imarsund strait between Ertvågsøya and Stabblandet. The bridge is toll-free.

At RP8 we drive across Mjosund Bridge (Norwegian: Mjosundbrua) is a cantilevered bridge that crosses the Mjosundet strait between the islands of Rottøya and Ertvågsøya in Aure Municipality in Møre og Romsdal County, Norway. Together with the Aursund Bridge, it is part of the road connection between the mainland and Ertvågsøya. Mjosund Bridge is 346 meters (1135 feet) long and was opened in 1995. Across the street is a small parking lot (RP9) where you can take a picture.

We now drive on to the famous town of Trondheim (RP25), this is a must-visit location. Known for its beautiful house and the many good restaurants, it is not called the cradle of Scandinavian cuisine for nothing. Here we take a longer break to have lunch and to stretch our legs. Take a walk through the Bakklandet district with its colorful wooden houses and cobbled narrow streets. Of course you can also rent a bicycle and go out on the locals' favorite mode of transport. You can also choose to plan an extra day here, there are many hotels in Trondheim.

After our visit to Trondheim the journey continues to the final destination Verdal, but first we visit the Steinvikholm Castle (RP25) on a small island which can be reached via a footbridge.
The next stop is in Vuddudalen (Vuddu Valley) at RP27, a must for Americana enthusiasts. You can already see the American-style buildings from the road. Here the visitor experiences an extraordinary experience. Original and attractive. Here you have the opportunity to walk through decades of the 20th century, there is a museum, American Diner “Pick Up Café” and a souvenir shop. You can eat a good burger, drink milkshakes, buy candles and gift items.

After this last stop we drive via Fv111 to Verdal, our end point for this day. A faster route is via the E6. In Verdal we spend the night at a campsite or in one of the hotels.
