Route Summary I have further supplemented the Road Trip with even more special points that you can visit in the USA. The route can of course be driven by any means of transport, but my preference is to ride routes on a motorcycle and in the USA of course on a Harley-Davidson.
Each Harley-Davidson Dealer has their own Poker Chips and it has become a tradition to collect as many Poker Chips as possible from the different Dealers. This Road Trip is of course extremely suitable for that and I will include the HD dealers as POI in the route for enthusiasts.
The “Ultimate USA Road Trip” starts in Las Vegas Nevada. You can't plan a better starting point. This city offers everything you could wish for and a stay of a few days extra in this city, prior to this trip, is definitely recommended.
This first day we drive through the Red Rock Canyon, along the Las Vegas Boulevard “The Strip”, past Lake Mead, the Hoover Dam and a visit to the Grand Canyon West entrance, Guano Point and the Skywalk.
The route has a lot to offer in nice sights and beautiful panoramas, the roads are good and meanwhile through a beautiful landscape. That's why I rate this route with 5 stars.

RouteXpert Review We drive west and after about 30 minutes we arrive at Red Rock Canyon where we drive the “Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive”, this is a 21 kilometers (13 miles) paved road with one way traffic, so you don't have to pay attention to oncoming traffic . There are many points along the route to enjoy the view and take pictures of the beautiful canyons and sandstone hills in the heart of this protected natural area. The cost is $15 per motorcycle/car.
For the hiking enthusiasts, there are 12 different trailheads, the visitor center at the start of the drive offers a lot of information about the natural and cultural history of this area, along with information about safety and orientation.
After this scenic drive, we will drive back to Las Vegas to visit the Fremont Street Experience (FSE), a pedestrian zone and attraction in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The FSE occupies the westernmost five blocks of Fremont Street, including the area known for years as "Glitter Gulch," and portions of several other adjacent streets. It is very busy, especially in the evenings, but during the day it is also worth a visit.
Here are the famous casinos of yesteryear such as The Fremont, The Golden Nugget, 4 Queens and many more. There are many cute shops and the illuminated canopy is great with its light shows. You can zoom over the heads of visitors with the SlotZilla zipline.
There are often free concerts on the three stages. This location has become a major tourist attraction for downtown Las Vegas and is well worth a visit.
The next part of the ride is on Las Vegas Boulevard, aka “The Strip”. It is a great experience to drive past the beautiful casinos between a mixture of vehicles, exotic sports cars, custom cars, rat rods, but also long limos. Of course we also stop at the Las Vegas Welcome Sign, where a photo can be taken. We head back onto the strip and now head north with another short stop at the Harley-Davidson Dealer to get the first Poker Chip.
We leave Las Vegas East to drive to the beautiful and very luxurious Lake Las Vegas in Henderson. Chic Lake Las Vegas is a resort town centered around the reservoir from which it gets its name. There is a water park and you can go boating or flyboarding. The area is home to many luxury hotels and several bistros overlooking the lake in a charming complex built in the style of an Italian village, ideal for lunch and stretching your legs. Hiking trails lead to the rugged nearby desert hills.
We continue the drive through the barren Nevada landscape to Lake Mead, where you have a beautiful view of this man-made lake from various viewpoints. Please note that the water level can sometimes be low due to the high temperatures and drought in this area.
The next stop is at the well-known Hoover Dam, a must-visit. At Dam Square there is a visitor center and museum for enthusiasts. There are several parking spaces along the road to enjoy the beautiful view of this immense structure. Be careful when you drive over the dam. The road is narrow, there are many pedestrian crossings and it is very busy.
Also take a look at the beautiful monument that was erected for the many people who died during the construction.
From the Hoover Dam we drive to the West Entrance of the Grand Canyon. You will drive through Arizona's Joshua Tree Forest to the area entrance to the airport where you will transfer to a bus to visit Guano Point, the Grand Canyon Skywalk, Eagle Point and Hualapai Ranch.
Guano Point is one of the Grand Canyon's most dramatic viewpoints, take the "Highpoint Hike" for a stunning 360-degree view of the Canyon. Visit the remains of a historic tram that once ran 2680 meters across the canyon to a guano mine.
The Grand Canyon Skywalk is a very special floating horseshoe-shaped glass walkway above the Grand Canyon at 1,200 feet. This does require some courage and a firm stomach as it is certainly frightening to walk over glass at this height, but the view all around and down is spectacular and well worth the effort.
Another attraction on this bus tour is a visit to the Hualapai Tribe in the Native American Village at Eagle Point, learn about the Hualapai Tribe's history and the area on a self-guided tour. It is possible to stay overnight at the Hualapai Ranch.
