inRoute Voice Notes I've had trouble coming up with pros and cons because I haven't been driving when I've been trying to try trying to write about it • I am glad that the iCloud sync isn't actually the current route - it's just the favorites. That way, I can compose routes on my iPad even though my iPad is never going to be the actual device on which I'm navigating. that I'm using I wish that the favorite like the favorites list needs to be sorted their folders that's cool but like there's no other method of sorting that I can tell it seems to be as close as I can tell every time I'm going to that list like I'm not just perusing For something very specific and I can't search that search is OK but like if it were I think so many problems will be solved if it were able to be sorted by I guess since there is no modified you just saving every time we date created descending because that's right right yeah the most recent route is almost I'm usually not the person to advocate for like that sort of shuffling around elements based on what the thing thinks you're gonna do but it's literally that's the one thing where it is still in your control is to just have a chronologically sorted I think that would solve a lot of things I don't know how difficult that would be and it's like the major issue to be honest I guess I have because of the accidents and because I'm on a clock on a time limit so much more often now I really have just committed to you or had committed to starting up Apple Maps matter where I'm going because you know like 15 minute trip to my girlfriends house because I didn't start the maps at one time I didn't notice that there was a bumper-to-bumper stopped traffic pile up on I 70 and I sat in that for an hour just been avoided but I am sure that I think that in route accounts for traffic I know it shows traffic but I mean the most Sensitive cowardly part of me like does wonder like is it as good "and I know of course or suspect is that neither of course can go to Google maps and I still don't use that so honestly usually because I am often I think I'm one of those practical things in route is avoiding traffic or I guess in my case and I would heavily qualify this I know the shortcuts are not shorter they literally are but that's it so you know you can't doesn't actually make sense in that way but I specifically just don't want to drive on the 15 times a week I would rather be on the road more now which is a is that just not even just for the sake of I like it for driving and enjoyment that's like I think for regular people I know that you guys have weird little shortcuts I don't know how much we're gonna confront that in the review--- So as far as the CarPlay experience to be honest I I suspect that just well actually I don't know the way that I feel about specifically the way that map zooming behaves in CarPlay in just about every app that I've tried like except the ones that are just so simple that they're not usable like roadster doesn't even it's got some auto zooming and I'm sure that there is an apple case there's like a paragraph that explains like how Wyatt behaves But oh God but especially Apple Maps it's just uncontrollable and it's just I cannot figure out what it's trying to do I can't figure out if it's one of those cases where like literally like I have no choice but to relent and that that will solve the problem because that doesn't seem to solve the problem it is it is does not seem to be one of those but you know maybe I'm just in too deep I'm talking about like every time I look down at the math screen the level of zoom our house is just what never what The optimal for whatever is happening like am I on the interstate and I'm like just keeping in context of like what I'm passing through but I know that I'm not gonna be turning or am I Pino navigating some like really twisty slow but completely unfamiliar roads and I don't know if it's obvious but like so on the interstate zoomed out this is pretty good I know goddamn thing just keep the speed limit up then I wouldn't even have it on NAV interstate but at which in route does not do speed limits which is OK I think I'd rather I guess I'd rather just have to look And then like when you're navigating like suburban or otherwise residential roads uncomfortable roads in the dark let's say it's your turn you know I need I need to be zoomed in because I don't know the street names I wish I could turn that off I wish I could turn the window with the directions off sometimes and just go with the blue line as they like to say but I have to say like having learned more about navigation/more digital maps in general it's actually commendable they are you the mainstream ones Apple Maps is as like smooth and functional as it is and of course big*there it's only that way because it's all open street map data that they just took I mean it's open so whatever but you know but unfortunately the zooming behavior of in route on CarPlay I guess I would actually it is a little better because it doesn't seem to invert it does seem to you know let me be at the zoom level I need to be at which and I could be hallucinating I don't I have to look it up I guess I can never find the answers to those for the things before but like I swear that Apple maps specifically when it first came on CarPlay or like the first time ice cream CarPlay it just sat at a static zoom level that you could change and I feel like I was way more confident with about changing it that zoom of a while driving where is like I mean frankly I just I don't feel good about in terms of like was I being a safe or being a present enough driver the times that I've tried to zoom in I guess the hardware could be a part I would like to think that my GTI CarPlay integration is a great ideal example it's middle of the road and it's not very big but it's not very big it's probably good contributing to that---
