Een ander rondje Noord Holland

This time the start is in a parking lot, you can have a nice cup of coffee at Mirror Pavilion and then drive. We deliberately avoid the well-known roads with this route. Volendam, Monnickendam, Hoorn, Enkhuizen, really nice places, but you have probably already been there. That is why we look for the unknown back roads. You drive to Purmerend on a typical North Holland road with water with bridges on both sides. Just past Purmerend you can stretch your legs at Fort Kwadijk, then via the nice Oostdijk to Midden Beemster. There is no shortage of dykes here, the Molendijk is also such a lovely road to drive on! Also no lack of windmills, the Kaagmolen, the Vier Winden, nice to shoot a few pictures. Speaking of picture taking, in the village of 'Van Ewijcksluis' you can stop with confidence and put your photo camera or smartphone to work! You will be served a few nice bends between Kleine- and Oude Sluis, so enjoy. And that enjoyment continues for a while, the roads are still quiet here. At least until you arrive at Bergen aan Zee, this is a lively seaside resort, and worth a visit. In Castricum you can grab a pancake at Johanna's Hof. Via Heemskerk, along 'Fort bij Veldhuis' you arrive back in Zaandam where you might feel like visiting the Zaanse Schans, a nice ending to a beautiful ride!
