RouteXpert Review After this scenic beauty, head towards Split, for the 1st coffee stop and then head towards the Jandranska Magistrale!
The Croatian Jadranska Magistrala or Adriatic Highway, which runs from Rijeka on the Kvarner Gulf to Karasovići on the border with Montenegro, offers one of Europe's most unforgettable journeys. Whether through deeply incised coves or along scree-covered mountains, there's hardly a dull stretch in its 650-kilometer length. The Magistrala often turns your stomach upside down with its endless twists and turns, but the views it offers are unforgettable, with the famously stark islands of the Adriatic parading before your eyes in a stately procession.
Traveling along the Magistrala used to be a tough test for the nerves of the holiday season, with its columns of caravans, scattered towns with speed limits and enough blind spots to make overtaking almost impossible. However, as Croatia's ever-expanding highway network takes the pressure off much of the route, it's rediscovering its reputation as one of Europe's greatest coastal drives.
If you don't want to drive this route in one go, you can leave the route in the coastal town of Klek and choose an extra overnight stay there.
Just after Klek you pass the border with Bosnia Herzegovina, and another 200 KM further the border with Montenegro, all the while you drive on the Jadranska Magistrala. Then along the Bay of Kotor, this is a bay in southwestern Montenegro. It is one of the main tourist attractions of Montenegro. The Bay of Kotor has been inhabited for ages and is home to several picturesque towns such as Kotor, Risan, Tivat, Perast and Herceg Novi, as well as many churches and monasteries.
Then 2 more stops to eat and drink before the border with Albania presents itself, after the border it is still about 100 km to the end point, where you can get rid of the fatigue of this journey in the spa of the hotel rinse while enjoying a snack and a drink.

Please be aware that these smaller roads can be in poor condition as they are not so frequently used and maintained.
